What do they SOUND like!
This page has a few complete songs, and many solo clips of the various pickup selections of the range of guitars
Huw Price, Guitar and Bass magazine review of the F7S June 2007
"This guitar really sings, and despite it's 'studio' name it can also dish the dirt. It's no executive blues guitar
. . .
It's one of the nicest-playing and best set-up guitars to have passed through Guitar & Bass in quite some time, and it sounds excellent.
. . . you really should try one out.
FINAL SCORE
Playability 19/20
Sound 19/20
Good for: metal, blues, rock, jazz, funk "
Complete Songs:
These are in mp3 format so that you can play them through your computer speakers and hi-fi and IPod. Best to use real hi-fi. Some computer speakers are inadequate to appreciate the quality.

Lost at Sea - by Eddie Copeland
Being a slow atmospheric song, it demonstrates the magnificent sustain of a Rees R2 guitar. Some fast runs show how fluently it plays. Lost At Sea is an original, direct to computer, edited multi-take recordings by Eddie, demonstrating the various voices of an R2 and playing styles.

Ben Smith recorded his Rees F2 in the studio
These samples are recorded at very high quality and are available on audio CD to play through your hi-fi. Please call for a free demo CD. The mp3s here are inevitably not quite so good. Even so, you must have quality speakers connected to your PC to appreciate these.
These samples are created and played by Ben Smith on his Rees F2 guitar. They were recorded using a Motu 828 Mk II soundcard at the highest possible sample rate, with an AKG D1200 dynamic microphone placed close, and slightly off axis in front of the amp speakers.
Ben's amplifier is a Fender Hot Rod Deville valve amp retro-fitted with a pair of Jensen vintage alnico V 10 inch speakers and cryogenically treated Electro-Harmonix and Svetlana Valves. No effects, no reverb, no compression, have been added to these recordings. The sweet modulations of some samples are the natural vibe of the guitar when played well. The sustain is natural and not enhanced.

Ben recorded a Rees T3 in the studio in exactly the same way as his F2:
These recordings are dry with no effects, no reverb, no compression, and no post processing. Of course they can be greatly further enhanced with various gizmos.
WARNING! You need to play these through moderately high quality speakers to appreciate how good the crunchy and humbucker voices are. Most computer speakers are cheap, feeble, and just don't have enough strength for this. Please call for a free demo CD for your hi-fi if in doubt.
